I started working on commission when I was 16 years old. I specialise in portraits of dogs, horses, children, and families, working from your photos and stories to create pieces I hope are full of character and energy.

Capturing a moment in time

I have started to create portraits in my abstract painting style alongside my previous more traditional approach. My abstract work offers something more contemporary which captures a memorable moment in time.

Portraits can be done in pencil, charcoal, oil or (as with my abstract work) mixed media.

I have been creating portraits for people since I was 16 years old. My main goal is always to capture the character of the person or animal in my work.

THE PROCESS

HOW IT WORKS

Portraits can be created from photos either provided by you or from a photo shoot with me. I work in pencil, charcoal, pastel, oil or even contemporary mixed media to achieve the look that you want or to keep within a certain budget.

Initial Chat

Share your ideas, reference photos and preferences. I can use photographs provided by you as long as they are of a high quality.

Quote & Timeline

I will confirm the cost and expected timeframe once the size, medium, and practical details of the artwork have been agreed. Please understand there is often a waitning list of 3-6 months but where possible I will try and accomodate

Creation

You’ll receive updates at key stages during the process. A final preview will be provided for your approval before the artwork is carefully prepared to ship.

Framing & Delivery Options

Framing can be arranged on request. All artworks are securely packaged and fully tracked on their journey to you.

Travel expenses and post and packaging may be added to the cost as well.

What is a commission?

A commission is a custom artwork created specifically for you. It allows you to have a unique piece that reflects your vision and preferences. Davina works closely with you to ensure your ideas are beautifully realised.

How long does it take?

The time frame for a commission varies based on complexity and Davina's current workload. Generally, you can expect your portrait to be completed within 4 to 6 months. However, if there is an urgent date this can normally be accommodated to make it work! This can be discussed during the initial consultation.

What are the prices?

Pricing for custom portraits start from £300 (for a miniature A5 drawing), depending on size and detail. Davina offers various options to suit different budgets. A detailed pricing guide will be provided during your consultation.

Do you offer framing?

Yes, framing options are available for your commissioned portrait. Davina collaborates with local framers to ensure the best presentation for your artwork. You can discuss your preferences during the commissioning process.

Do I need professional photos?

Not at all — Davina works from natural, candid images too.

Can you ship internationally?

Yes. Framed or unframed — Davina ships securely worldwide.
